About the event
Three seasons ago, the American String Quartet closed our very first season, fifty years into their history, passing something forward to a budding chamber music series. This season, they return not to close a chapter, but to celebrate the legacy they have created. Join us on June 5, 2027, at 5:30 PM at the Noank Baptist Church in Mystic, CT, for an unforgettable evening of chamber music. The American String Quartet, in their final season as a string quartet, will open the program, performing some of their most cherished repertoire. The evening ends with Schubert's String Quintet in C major, one of the last works he wrote before he died at thirty-one. MCMS Artistic Director Tom joins them as second cello, closing a circle that began in his own student years studying with them. Come hear what fifty years of playing together sounds like, up close.
